Costa del Sol/Benalmádena Village and Costa

Benalmadena is an Andalucian mountain village, which perches on top of the beautiful rocky coastal range which forms the backdrop of the Shoreline.

The Beach at BenalmadenaDon´t confuse Benalmadena Village with Benalmadena Costa. The Costa is the busy and bustling resort area along the coast, while the village is typically Spanish, filled with pretty villas, cobbled streets and delightful small cafes, restaurants and gift shops.

This picturesque village and its coastline are eminently suitable for tourism, with a population of over 60,000 people at the height of the season.

The coastal region of Benalmadena is where most of the facilities for sun and sand tourism are concentrated: Hotels, a casino, golf courses and a pleasure harbour sit side by side, meaning everything you might need is only a sea shell´s throw away!

Bil Bil Castle

Worthy of note for its originality is Bil Bil Castle, on the sea front, a curious structure built in Neoarabic style in 1934, now used for cultural purposes and weddings by the local council. In fact Bil-Bil Castle is currently proving such a popular wedding ceremony choice, particularly for non Spanish couples, that the waiting list to get married there is over a year long!

Benalmadena Costa has 9km of shoreline with beautiful beaches and tiny coves and a fully equipped marina for over 1,000 vessels. The marina is surrounded by apartments and offers sports such as diving and sailing. Just to the west of Malaga and Torremolinos, Benalmadena Costa is one of the Costa del Sol's most buzzing family resort areas with plenty of beaches and attractions plus an abundance of bars and restaurants that would keep most visitors going a lifetime.

In fact its nightlife has achieved legendary status amongst Costa del Sol die-hards - particularly in the area now developing around the new Puerto Marina.

Benalmadena Marina The Puerto Marina is the place to go for  "party goers" of all ages. Popular with locals and tourists alike the place has a distinctly international feel to it. The area is crammed with a variety of nightclubs and bars playing the latest music and staying open until sunrise.
Benalmadena is particularly proud of it?s Marina, which has on several occasions been awarded the prize for the 'best marina in the world' by specialised communication companies. It has over 1000 moorings, beautiful architecture and leisure and amusement facilities that attract millions of visitors every year.

Benalmádena is a very easily accessible tourist resort situated just several Km´s along the coast from popular Malaga Airport. The town can also be reached by a four-lane highway and by train. There is also an excellent marina that is being enlarged in order to enable small cruise ships to dock. And if you´re worried about shopping, the local markets provide a good opportunity to sample local delicacies and purchase handicrafts, while the town and Marina host a wide range of larger shops and designer goods.
