BIS MAGAZINE/The BIS Guide/BIS Guide to..... Sangría

This month, we proudly present the BIS Guide to

 .....  Spanish sangría!

Impress your friends with wonderful homemade sangria…

Ideal for summer parties and barbecues back home or when in  Spain relaxing on your terrace watching the sun go down. You can buy it already mixed in supermarkets, however, it is so easy to make and homemade it always tastes a lot better.

So here is the recipe

Ingredients to make one jug:

1 bottle of cheap read wine.

1 bottle of lemonade or soda.

diced and peeled apples.

diced and peeled peaches.

Ice cube.

Cinnamon.

Sugar.

Southern Comfort, Martini,Vermouth or Similar.

Mix the red wine and lemonade depending on how strong you want to make it. Normally it is 2 parts wine to 3 parts lemonade. Add approx. 2 tablespoons of sugar and stir. Add a dash of Southern Comfort or similar.

Add a dash of cinnamon, stir again. Finally add the fruit and the ice cubes.

Prepare the sangria ten minutes before the required serving time, if not the fruit becomes too soft and soaked in alcohol, making it extremely potent.

Instead of making a full Sangria, you can make a ‘Tinto de Verano’, (Summer red wine) which is also very popular and even easier. You just mix the wine and lemonade as above and add ice.
